Medicine Hat Tigers head coach and general manager Willie Desjardins has been busy this pre-season.

The Tigers announced Friday they had signed forward Steven Arp to a WHL agreement. The 17-year-old appeared in seven games for the Parkland Rangers of the MU18HL last year, scoring two goals and adding five assists.

The Swan River, Man. product joins forwards Hunter St. Micheal and Brett Calhoon as players the Tigers have signed since training camp started. Medicine Hat has also swung two deals this pre-season, both with the Spokane Chiefs, bringing in forward Owen MacNeil and sending defencemen Ben Bonni south of the border.

In a media release on Friday, Tigers director of player personnel Bobby Fox said, “Steven is a versatile big body forward. He has a strong work ethic, shows confidence with the puck and has a knack around the net.”

Arp is expected to dress for Medicine Hat in their home-and-home series with the Swift Current Broncos, including Saturday night’s 7 p.m. game at Co-op Place.
