ktaniguchi@medicinehatnews.com@@kellentaniguchi Carlin Dezainde made his Western Hockey League debut Friday night after signing with the team earlier that morning. The 16-year-old had nine points in five games with the Edge School U18 Prep team this season before the Canadian Sport School Hockey League was shut down due to COVID-19. “Carlin is a fast forward with good offensive instincts and vision,” said Bobby Fox, director of player personnel, in a release on the team’s website. “He plays hard and can buzz, making defencemen’s lives miserable.” Dezainde played with the Edge School Elite 15’s in the CSSHL during the 2019-20 season where he netted 11 goals and tallied 17 assists for 28 points in 36 games. Dezainde was penciled in to play alongside Tigers captain Ryan Chyzowski and Lukas Svejkovsky for Friday’s game against the Calgary Hitmen. 7
