Hat’s Cherniak signs with AJHL’s Bobcats

Medicine Hat’s Roman Cherniak has signed on to compete with the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Lloydminster Bobcats for the 2021-22 season, the team announced last week.

The 6-foot, 175-pound forward has been playing out of South Alberta Hockey Academy in Dunmore this season, where he managed two goals over five games. In 2019-20, Cherniak racked up 11 goals and 21 assists over 32 games with the CSSHL’s Northern Alberta Elite 15s.

“The first thing that jumped out to our staff was his willingness to compete all over the ice and his ability to produce offence,” Bobcats director of player personnel Andrew Gilbert said in a team release.
