The Medicine Hat Tigers are set to embark on their first three-game weekend of the Western Hockey League’s pandemic-shortened season. The Tigers (2-2-0-0) will be in Calgary tonight at 7:30 p.m. to face off against the Hitmen (1-0-1-0) for the first time this season after dropping a pair of games against the undefeated Edmonton Oil Kings (4-0-0-0) last weekend. The series shifts back to Medicine Hat on Saturday for a 7 p.m. rematch before closing things out back in Calgary on Sunday at 7 p.m. Cole Clayton leads the Tigers in points with seven points — good enough for third in the Central Division – while Corson Hopwo and Lukas Svejkovsky both boast three goals over their first four games. Tabby starter Garin Bjorklund enters the weekend sporting a 3.00 goals against average and an .894 save percentage. Over in Calgary, Brayden Peters posted a shutout to open the Hitmen’s season last Friday, then fellow goaltender Jack McNaughton posted a .912 save percentage in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Rebels. Sean Tschigerl leads the Hitmen with a pair of goals, while eight of his teammates registered one point through Calgary’s first two games of the year. 8
