Medicine Hat Tigers forward Cole Sillinger earned quite the nod from NHL Central Scouting on Tuesday.

After racking up 22 goals and 31 assists over 48 games as a rookie last season, Sillinger enters the upcoming campaign as one of five Western Hockey League players to earn an A rating on the scouting group’s players to watch list.

The 5-foot-11, 194-pound left-winger is joined by forwards Dylan Guenther, of the Edmonton Oil Kings, Ryder Korczak, of the Moose Jaw Warriors and Conner Roulette, of the Seattle Thunderbirds, as well as Winnipeg Ice defenceman Carson Lambos as A-rated players – reserved for projected first-round draft candidates.

Tigers defenceman Dru Krebs also earned a spot on the players to watch list with a C rating – indicating a fourth-to-sixth-round candidate.

Krebs collected three goals and 10 assists with a plus-5 rating over 55 games as a rookie with the Tigers last season.

The WHL is scheduled to drop the puck on the 2020-21 season Jan. 8.
