Tigers host Warriors tonight

By Medicine Hat News on November 22, 2019.

The Medicine Hat Tigers will be looking to bounce back into the win column when they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors to the Canalta Centre tonight for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.

The Tigers are 1-1-0-0 at the halfway point of their four-game homestand and sit third in the Central Division with a 14-7-1-0 record. Moose Jaw on the other hand enters tonight’s contest riding a two-game slide with a 9-9-1-0 record.

Captain James Hamblin leads the Tigers with 33 points this season, including 14 goals. While he had a five-game point streak snapped in Tuesday’s 4-0 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings, Hamblin has gathered 17 points over the past nine games to sit second in the Western Hockey League’s scoring race.

Moose Jaw’s offence has been bolstered by 17-year-old centre Ryder Korczak – who has eight goals and 21 assists in 19 games this season.

The Warriors will be without reigning rookie of the year Brayden Tracey for Friday’s game. The 18-year-old winger collected five goals and four assists over just four games against the Tigers last season, but is serving the end of a two-game suspension for a check to the head against the Swift Current Broncos on Nov. 16.

The Tigers close out their four-game homestand Saturday against the East Division-leading Prince Albert Raiders (15-4-3-1) at 7:30 p.m.
