Husband-wife team wins

Wes Bresee has certainly caught the lawn bowling bug.

Now he’s passed it along to his wife.

Playing in the Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling Club’s novice tournament for players with five years or less experience, Wes and Jean Bresee topped the charts earlier this month.

They went 5-0 in the six-team round robin tournament Aug. 11. It’s Wes’ third straight win at the event, but first with Jean. Previously he teamed up with Jeff Desjarlais.

Barb Moll and Lori Durdle took second place, while Ann Boutkan and Steve Bezanson were third.

Desjarlais has moved up from the novice ranks and even won the local men’s singles league final, 10-9 in an extra end over Allen Hunt. Club president Joan Theriault was the ladies singles winner, edging Ann Boutkan 8-6.
