Martin eighth at mid-amateur

Medicine Hat’s Becky Martin finished eighth at the Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship which concluded Tuesday in Osoyoos, B.C.

Martin, who won both the Alberta amateur and mid-amateur titles last month, shot rounds of 76, 73 and 76 on the par-73 layout at Osoyoos Golf Club. Ontario’s Judith Kyrinis won with a 54-hole score of 2-under, eight shots ahead of Martin.

The 89-woman field for the mid-amateur event included players from as far away as Australia. Mid-master, senior and super senior titles were also contested.
