Hayden Hall did it all for the K of C Knights in a 10-2 win over the Havre North Stars Sunday, but his team couldn’t keep the momentum going in a 13-7 loss to close the doubleheader.
At Jeffries Field, Hall nearly had a complete game, settling for 6 1/3 innings of five-hit ball in the opener. He also drove in two runs on 3-for-4 hitting from the cleanup spot.
Six Havre errors helped the home team pull away, making a long afternoon for their starting pitcher Carson Lunak.
The North Stars’ defence was better in the second game, and they had the first eight runs, led by a 4-for-4, 3 RBI game from Quinn Reno.
Hall and Kobe Coderre each went 2-for-4 for Medicine Hat, which had five-run fourth but couldn’t get any closer.
The Knights next host the Tri County Cardinals Wednesday, 5 p.m. at Jeffries for a doubleheader.
Monarchs
On Saturday, the AA Moose Monarchs took a 19-5 decision on the chin to the visiting Lethbridge Elks.
Lethbridge had six runs on the board before starter Nathan Reiter had even thrown a pitch. Kalem Haney went 3-for-4, a home run shy of the cycle but driving in seven runs.
Reese Whelen was the lone Monarch with two hits, and they scored all their runs in the fourth inning before the mercy rule was invoked after the fifth.
Medicine Hat hosts Kalispell in a doubleheader today at Athletic Park, then a third game Wednesday.
