Technical issues result in longer early bird U-17 deal

By Medicine Hat News on June 20, 2019.

Technical issues have resulted in the upcoming World Under-17 Hockey Challenge offering discounted group ticket packages at a discounted rate for a bit longer.

The 12-game packages were initially set to revert to regular pricing as of Tuesday, but a press release that morning stated they’ll honour the lower prices until June 28.

“We had some minor technical glitches with ticket sales and wanted to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to purchase tickets at the early-bird price,” said Kara Brake, marketing director of the host committee in Medicine Hat. “We are hoping people take advantage of these prices and come out to witness future NHL stars from all over the world.”

The tournament starts Nov. 2 in both Medicine Hat and Swift Current. The early-bird price in Medicine Hat is $180 ($110 for youth under 18 years old) in Medicine Hat and gets you into both the bronze and gold-medal matches as well as other games during the event. A similar package for Swift Current – which does not have the medal games – goes for $150 and $90 for youth.
