Hat swimmers earned more time in the pool with superb showings at the Pronghorn Classic in Lethbridge this past weekend.

Berlin Mastel, 13, won a gold, two silver and three bronze but more importantly made the cut times in her 50 and 100 metre freestyle to earn a spot at the Western Canadian Championships. Teammates Delrae Vetter and Emily Schlenker have five qualifying events already, with a couple more Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club members looking to join them soon.

Also earning spots at championship meets this past weekend was 11-year-old Aspen Fetch (in the Swim Alberta Summer Championships), Evan Ma and Albany Mastel (in provincials).

AMAC swimmers combined for 49 medals; 16 gold, 11 silver and 22 bronze in Lethbridge. Ashton Scholly (13) won three gold, two silver and a bronze. Schlenker won three gold, a silver and two bronze. Vetter won two gold, two silver and a bronze. Hunter Skrove got two gold, a silver and a bronze. Other medalists included Munro Maxwell, Parker Maxwell, Elliot Valk, Elizabeth Bowey, Aspen Fetch, Kristin Hollingworth, Evan Ma, Jocelyn Macphail, Maria Pachan and Brandt Swaren.
