It’s been a rough start to the season for the Medicine Hat College women’s volleyball team.
The Rattlers dropped to 0-5 in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-21) loss to the Kodiaks in Lethbridge Thursday.
Lethbridge improved to 2-5.
Statistics posted on the ACACwebsite suggested it was a massive effort from Ashleigh-Dawn Noel that led the home side. The setter was credited with an incredible 11 blocks and six service aces.
Coach Kim Stonehouse said libero Shaya Suchy was her team’s player of the match, but had no further information to provide. Suchy was credited with 11 digs.
In men’s play the Rattlers fell to 3-2 with a five-set loss to the Kodiaks, 15-13 in the final set according to coach Mark Porter, who had neither set scores nor statistics available. The Kodiaks improved to 4-3.
The teams rematch at Medicine Hat College Saturday at 6 and 8 p.m.
