With the playoffs just around the corner, local peewee football teams are looking to build momentum.

For the Sports Connection Tiger-Cats, a big win achieved just that.

The Tiger-Cats beat the Stampeders 40-26 Tuesday night at the Methanex Bowl, getting three touchdowns from Kai Eld plus majors from Fin Unger, Tristan Friesen and Riley Friesen.

Carter Giesbrecht had two touchdowns for the Stamps, while Theron Chabot and Judah Raible also found the end zone.

The Stamps had a better regular season record, second behind the Argonauts, but the Tiger-Cats play them next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in a league semifinal. The other semi is next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., with the Argos playing the Roughriders.

The Medicine Hat Tackle Football Association final goes 10 a.m. Nov. 12.
