Each of the past few years the Medicine Hat College Rattlers have qualified for golf nationals, coach Trevor Moore has filed a blog entry for each day of the trip. With Danielle Blackmer, Becky Martin, Nicole Schultz and Braden Schacher in Prince Edward Island for nationals this week, Moore’s daily notes continue today.
Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association finals finish Friday.
Win, lose or draw, the2016 college golf season comes to a close tomorrow afternoon on the east coast.
Day two is always about posturing…teams are trying to position themselves in a place to strike on the final day. Nobody wins this thing on day two; However players are very sensitive to the fact it can be lost on day two.
With that said, how did day two shake out for us?
All our players struggled to find their rhythm at times today. But I am pleased with how well they all stayed calm and maintained perspective through out the rough patches.
When the dust settled at the end of the day, we are exactly where we need to be. A lady leading the individual side, a women’s team in a tight race to the finish, and an individual guy who continues to get better each day.
I could not be prouder of this group and what they have achieved this season. They have set goals — both individually and as a group — and have made many sacrifices in pursuit of them.
I am honoured to walk the course with these players tomorrow as we put the finishing touches on our season. Their growth as people and players continues to amaze me; they get stronger each and every day.
