It was a pretty good weekend for Medicine Hat’s three under-14 ringette teams.

The trio of squads combined to go 5-1 in league play, with the B-level Vortex and Blaze at home and the A-level Attack in the Calgary area.

Vortex beat the Bow View Demons 3-2 Saturday, getting goals from Lexi Owen, Kira Chell and Bree Becker. They followed that up with an 11-5 win over the Cochrane Rockies, led by four goals from Becker, three from Chell, two from Olivia Sim and singles from Hailey Sanders and Megan Taylor.

Blaze played the same teams in reverse order, and had similar results. They opened with an 8-3 win over Cochrane, then steamrolled to a 9-1 victory against Bow View.

Jae Shott and Delaney Mastel had hat tricks against Cochrane, with Juia Tweed and Joren Gramlich adding goals. Goaltender Hailey Orr was the star against Bow View, while every player on the team had at least a point.

Meanwhile, the Attack played games on the road, outshooting their opposition by a combined 99-46 count but settling for a split.

Against Bow View Bolt they fell 6-4, despite goals from Andie Suhai, Sheridyn Herman, Allison Mason and Amanda Robinson. They rebounded with a 6-1 win over Airdrie’s Sting. Suhai, Mason, Robinson, Herman, Kylie Kallenburger and Ashlyn Seale scored in a balanced attack, while goalies Sydney Carlson and Devyn Amundson combined for the win.
