Already successful tennis players, the Medicine Hat duo of Trevor Riddell and Cory Streifel are showing they’re pretty good at the sport’s close cousin, pickleball.

Riddell and Streifel were among a handful of Hat players in Okotoks for a tournament this past weekend, going 5-1 to claim top spot in their men’s doubles division.

After winning their first four matches in the double knockout event, they lost in the final to a pair from Cochrane but won the one-set rematch 15-7.

Nancy and Ed Dick also medaled in Okotoks, taking bronze in their mixed doubles division. The duo went 3-2.

A few other teams competed but came up just short of the medals. Guy Riddell and Gordon Masson went 2-2 in men’s doubles, Jan Goodfellow and Gordon Masson were 2-2 in mixed doubles, and Ruthmary Hollis, Nancy Dick and Jan Goodfellow also played women’s doubles.
