1935 ~ BRUCE STENGLER ~ 2022

Bruce Stengler of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Mavis Stengler, passed away on Sunday, August 21st, 2022 at the age of 87 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mavis; one son, David, and his wife, Reta of Medicine Hat; daughters, Denise and her husband, Oscar Medina, and Dianne Andjelic and her husband, Michael, all of Calgary; four grandchildren, Sheena and Shyla from Medicine Hat, and Sebastian and Bryanne from Calgary; one great-granddaughter, Emma; one sister, Julie Beitel and her husband, Marv of Medicine Hat; as well as his extended family. Bruce was predeceased by his parents. He was born in Mankota, SK and took his schooling there. He moved to Moose Jaw, SK and worked at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital as a nursing orderly. He then moved to Vancouver, BC in 1957 and worked at the Vancouver General Hospital. He married Mavis Sunde in 1957 and moved to Medicine Hat. He then worked at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital as a nursing orderly, then the last 12 years in the maintenance department as a carpenter. He retired in 1990. In the 1970’s and 80’s, Bruce was very much involved in women’s hockey, taking players to several tournaments in Western Canada. Following retirement, he became interested in bronze art and has made several sculptures. In recent years, he belonged to the Strathcona Art Club and has enjoyed water colour painting. Bruce enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and spending a lot of the summers at their cabin in Saskatchewan. 1943 – KELVIN FISCHER – 2022

Kelvin Melvin Fischer passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at the age of 79 years, beloved husband of Lorraine Fischer of Medicine Hat; his daughters Debbie Fischer Burback, Laurie (Ivan) Hausauer, stepdaughter Tracey (Bryce) Martin; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren: Taylor (Kendra), Ashton, Grace, Kyle (Sarah), Cody (Ericka) and their children Dane, Lane, and Sage; Dana (Brett) and their daughter Elaina, Dallin (Brianna); Jocelyn (Seth) and their son Douglas; and Reagan (Jana); Graysen, Gavin and Donavan; his brother Vern (Penny) Fischer; one sister Vera (Curtis) Winkler and numerous nieces and nephews. Kelvin was predeceased by his wife Sharon, son Colin, one brother Lloyd and his parents Jack and Hilda Fischer; stepfathers Michael Plotsky and Dave Winkler. 1944 – ROSE BEITZ – 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Roselene Fern Beitz on August 21, 2022 in Medicine Hat. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jim Beitz; her daughters, Sharlene Oberacher (David), Calvin (Charlene) Beitz, Michelle (Rick) Blais and Chad Beitz; five grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Taylor, Cole and Stephanie; one great granddaughter Mia and numerous extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, five sisters, one brother and one granddaughter Kiana Blais. Rose was born on April 1, 1944, in Lethbridge and was raised in Coalhurst, Alberta by her parents Myrtle and Paul Pontarolo (deceased). In 1961, she moved to Calgary where she became foster mother to 25 babies over a five year period. She always had a love for babies. Rose had many job opportunities throughout the years in various towns and cities in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. She took great pride in working alongside her husband Jim, owning and operating small businesses for 35 years until 2015. Rose’s greatest joy and achievements were her family. She was proud of each and everyone of her children, grandchildren and great grandchild for their accomplishments great and small. Rose will be interred at Archmount Cemetery in Lethbridge at a private family service. AL CRUICKSHANK

February 4, 1950 ~ July 21, 2022

It is with very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Norman “Al” Cruickshank. Al passed on Thursday, July 21, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 72 years. Al’s memory will forever be treasured in the hearts of his wife, Judy; children, Curtis (Cindy), Daniel (Jen), Mathew (Tiffany) and Karli (Derek); his adoring grandchildren, Cilo, Lauryn, Ivy, Ben, Thea and Hannah; brothers, John (Kathryn), Hugh (Carolyn) and Raymond (Donna) as well as many other family members who loved him dearly.
Al was a very special man. Soft spoken with a heart of gold and a testament to what it is to be a loving husband, nurturing father and dedicated friend. He was born in Paris, Ontario on February 4, 1950, to Glenn and Barbara Cruickshank and was raised on their dairy farm with his three brothers.
Al was dedicated to his career as a property and land assessor. He also spent 37 years as a member of Westminster United Church and volunteered countless hours to the church and other charitable organizations as well as many more as a parent-volunteer supporting his kids many activities as he and Judy raised them.
Al loved spending time outdoors, riding his motorcycle, camping, hiking and traveling with Judy. He was adventurous, thoughtful, kind and above all lived his life with a grace and positivity that not many do. He touched many and served as an example of how to navigate life’s many challenges with love, tolerance and faith as a guide.

BEAU RICHARD ELIAS WALTER

August 4, 2000 – August 20, 2022

Beau Richard Elias, beloved son of Johnny and Carrah, best friend and older brother to Brody, was called home to the Lord Our Savior at the age of 22.

He is also survived by his Grandparents, Dora Walter, Richard and Michelle Pinder; his loving Aunts and Uncles, Alaina and Rob Evans, Gillian Pinder, Eli and Freida Walter, Jake Walter, Esther and Tim Gross, Barbara and Gary Gross, Sarah and Johnny Gross; Cousins, Tucker Evans, Tavin Evans (Amber Gallup) Ashton Leverton, Michelle and David (Arianna and Caroline) Tschetter, Stephanie, Andrea and Claudia Gross, Brittany, Isaac, Aaron, Garrett and Zachary Gross, Jennifer and Gideon Hofer, Johanna, Maria and Jeneva Walter, Danielle, Emily and Ezra Gross; extended family and many, many close friends.

Beau was born in Pincher Creek, AB and raised on a farm near Glenwood, AB. Shortly after Graduation, he moved to Redcliff, AB with his family and started working for Aecon Transportation West.
We all knew Beau as a BEAUtiful person. He lived up to his name. He was kind, generous, respectful and embraced life and lived it to the fullest. His smile lit up a room and he gave the BEST hugs. His quick whit always made you smile. Beau was always dressed to the nines. We will miss his morning wake-up Snaps, and watching him sing, and his famous Tik Toks with “Ruby”.
Beau’s final act of kindness and generosity was to save the lives of many by donating his Organs and Tissues.

His family would like to give a heart felt thank you to STARS Air Ambulance and the Staff of ICU at the U of A Hospital, and the loving staff of HOPE.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at 3:00pm at the Redcliff Baseball Diamond #1 – 102 1st St. SW, Redcliff AB. Reception to follow. A private family Interment will be held at the Redcliff Cemetery.

LORNE DAVID KASTRUKOFF

November 11th, 1952 – August 22nd, 2022

Lorne Kastrukoff passed away on August 22nd, 2022, at the age of 69 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sandra; daughters, Cheryl Lynn Kastrukoff and KellyAnn Schill; grandchildren, Tyler Phinney, Samantha Phinney, Rylan Schill and Mason Schill; brother, Gerry (Helen) Kastrukoff; sister, Lorraine Cameron; father-in-law, Jim Cowieson; four brothers-in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lorne was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Dora Kastrukoff; brother, Jack Kastrukoff.
Lorne was born in Benito, Manitoba and raised in Shortdale, Saskatchewan. He lived in a few small towns before moving to Regina, where he met Sandra and they moved to Medicine Hat in 1974. He loved playing pool, golf, fishing and camping.
