Sebastian “Seb” Goldade, beloved husband of the late, Evelyn Goldade, passed away at Sunnyside Nursing Home in Medicine Hat on Friday, May 17th, 2019 at the age of 88 years. Irene Nitz of Medicine Hat, AB, passed away on Monday, May 13th, 2019 at the age of 80 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Darlene (David) Tessman, Brenda (Bill) Rose, Dean Nitz, Charlene (John Grona), Mary (Steve) Seitz and their families; sisters, Georgina (Morris) Stenger and Annie (Harvey) Sackman; and numerous nephews and nieces. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Gotlieb “Gus” Nitz; parents, Valentine and Pauline Bischoff; sister, Evelyn Kobley (Mike); and daughter-in-law, Charlene Nitz. Vigil Rites will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Sunday, May 26th, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Monday, May 27th, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Vijaya Bathineni, Celebrant. LYLE WADE REINHELLER

Lyle Wade Reinheller passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the age of 62 years. He was predeceased by his father, Albert Reinheller. Lyle leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Eileen Reinheller; brother, Lee (Corili) and their children, Justin, Char (Mike) and their children Karleigh and Addison; Amber (John) and their daughter, Miaya; sister, Della (Carmon) and their daughters, Jennifer (Charles) and their children, Melody and Benjamin; Kristy (Brendan); sister, Angela and her children, Savanna, Jessica (Josh) and their children, Alize, Bishop, Korbin and Kaine. Lyle was born on January 16, 1957, in Medicine Hat. His family moved from Richmound, Saskatchewan to Medicine Hat in 1967. Lyle attended George P. Vanier, a school for persons with disabilities. He later attended the Kinsmen Training Centre as well as Redi Enterprises for life skills and job training. At 18 years of age, Lyle moved out of his parents’ home, living in various group homes and after a number of years in the apartment training program, he moved into his own apartment where he lived independently for his adult life. He was so very proud to have his own apartment; he truly loved his independence. Lyle loved hockey… he was a super fan of the Flames and Oilers and one of the MH Tigers biggest fans, sitting behind the player’s bench as a season ticket holder for more than 30 years. Then there was baseball… Lyle loved his Toronto Blue Jays! He loved to go camping, fishing and sitting by the campfire. Lyle took great pride in having a job and he worked for various businesses including Sidestreet, Tony Romas and Tim Horton’s. He bowled a great game; loved to golf and was a proud member of the Moose Lodge, playing pool in their league; but there was nothing like the love he had for his family. Getting together for family celebrations, especially birthdays, brought him so much joy. Lyle loved being surrounded by those who truly loved him back. Then there was Christmas and Santa – the build up to Christmas Day and opening gifts was a magical time, not to mention getting all dressed up in his suit and tie and dancing the night away at the annual Redi Christmas party. Wearing his cowboy hat and going to the night shows during Stampede was a special annual event for him. He loved playing his records, watching reruns of MASH and of course going for coffee at Tim’s with his favorite people. Lyle just simply loved love. He loved his mom and dad, his big brother and his favorite sisters and he also had a special place in his heart just for Crystal. He was a gentle soul; humble and kind and wanted nothing more than for everyone to be happy and nice to one other. For those he loved; he gave the biggest of hugs, never afraid to show how much you meant to him. Our family was blessed to share our lives with this very special man. We feel blessed that Lyle shared his life with us. We’re going to miss our “mouse”. World Down Syndrome Day is March 21. This day will forever have more meaning. A private graveside service was held at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Redi Enterprises, CORE Association or to St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice. MEINRAD HAMMEL
May 8, 1933 ~ May 19, 2019
Meinrad Joseph Hammel passed away unexpectedly in Leader, Saskatchewan with all of his children by his side on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at the age of 86 years. Meinrad is survived by his beloved wife, Bertha; children, Lloyd (Jamie), Bill (Lissa), Sandra (Larry) Stenerson and Tom; grandchildren, Teela (Matt), Tristan, Ashley, Taylor, Devyn, Destiny and Jessica (Keagan); great-grandchildren, Dylon, Liam, Tatum, Steele and Kasher as well as numerous nieces, nephews and members of Bertha’s family. Meinrad’s long career started with him working for nearby farmers at a young age. His passion for horses later led him to be a range rider for various community pastures throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. Meinrad then took a position as an elevator agent for Federal Grain and Pool. In 1976, Meinrad and Bertha purchased the grocery store in Abbey and named it Hammel’s Store. They took great pride in the family run business until 1995 when they moved to the family farm south of Lemsford, farming there with his sons until 2009 before retiring to Medicine Hat. Meinrad was a man of very few words and saved most of them for teasing his grandchildren, especially when they least expected it. He loved the farm life immensely and was often found humming while he worked around the farm. Meinrad enjoyed his life in the condo and his favourite pastime was playing cards or pool with his many friends. As per Meinrad’s wishes, a private family time of remembrance will be held.
