1927 ~ 2019
Mrs. Annie Mary Humbert (nee Glaser), beloved wife of the late Delbert Humbert, passed away peacefully a St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at the age of 91 years. Anne was born in Fox Valley, SK., on August 2, 1927, to George and Elizabeth Glaser. She married Delbert Humbert in 1955, in Calgary. Anne was a faithful and devoted member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church and sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed sewing, baking, football and knew more about hockey than most hockey players. She was a devoted Medicine Hat Tigers fan and season ticket holder for 40 years. Anne’s memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of her family: daughter, Rhonda Humbert and son-in-law, Todd Haase and their dog, Murphie; grandchildren, Melissa, Jason, Amanda (Ryan) and Jordan (Alex); great-grandchildren, Liam, Jordan, Monique, Carter, Korry and Harper; nieces, Connie (Ted), Dory (Neil), Catherine (Stan) and Debbie; nephews, Warren (Sheila), Brian (Sandy), Scott (Ev), Sean (Mia) and Robin. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Delbert; son, Wayne and his partner, Debbie; parents, George and Elizabeth Glaser; brothers and their wives, Tony (Olive), Delmer (Bertha) and Floyd (Gerry). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 – 2 Avenue, N.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Father Tomy Manjaly celebrant. Interment will take place later in the Spring. BELLAMY
Kenneth Donald Bellamy (Kenny B) passed away peacefully at his residence on March 8, 2019 at the age of 67 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 37 years, Nyla Bellamy; his two children Jordan (Alisa) Bellamy and Donovan Bellamy (Jennifer) both of Medicine Hat; three grandchildren Zander, Corbin and Parker; three sisters, Heather Bellamy, Amber (Joe) Wogrinc, Debby (Blaine) Renner; mother-in-law Anna Jesse, brother-in-law Ivan (Sharon) Jesse as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents William Donald and Agnes Bellamy. Ken was born on May 28, 1951 in North Battleford Saskatchewan. On December 17, 1981, he married the love of his life Nyla Jesse. Ken and Nyla started their life together by establishing a farm east of Medicine Hat where they raised their two children. Ken started his career by purchasing his first semi- truck, hauling grain in southern Alberta and western Saskatchewan. He then went back to school to further his education and achieved a journeyman certificate in carpentry. He worked in the construction industry for many years building houses in Medicine Hat, including the home that he raised his family in. In 1985, he changed career paths back into the trucking industry, which led him into the oilfield, working for companies including Canadian Fracmaster, BJ Services, Nowsco –Fracmaster, Co3 Energy and Ferus Inc. He continued his driving career with LMT Enterprises and Care Cabs for many years. Prior to Ken’s retirement he worked with his son Donovan at Dynamic Industrial Solutions until he retired in 2017, at the age of 65. His family meant everything to him and he enjoyed going to the curling rink and traveling to watch his boys curl. Ken was always one to have a great sense of humor and tried to take the edge off of tense situations. He always tried to make everyone comfortable with laughter, a skill that was passed down to his sons. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and grandpa and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. In following with Ken’s wishes, please join us in a celebration of his life at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club located at 947 Pigeon Street, NE., on Friday March 15th from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. for everyone to come visit and share memories of Ken. Mrs. Catherine Mary ‘Connie’ Sheardown, beloved wife of the late Mr. James ‘Jim’ Sheardown, passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Monday, March 11, 2019, at the age of 79 years. Connie leaves to cherish her memory four children: James (Coreen) Sheardown, Scott (Brenda) Sheardown, Donna-Lee (Collin) Sheardown-Stabler, Carmen (Mike) Rath; seven grandchildren, Brock Sheardown, Shelby Sheardown, Christopher Sheardown, Jake Rath, Travis Rath, Rylan Stabler and Tyson Stabler. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim, in 2011; parents, John and May Slobodin; daughter, Colleen Sheardown in 2018 as well as all eight of her siblings. Connie was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on September 30, 1939. She has resided in the Medicine Hat area since 1964 and will be fondly remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Elizabeth “Beth” May Akins ~ 2019
Elizabeth “Beth” May Akins (nee Lightfoot) passed away at Good Samaritan Southridge Village, with her children by her side on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the age of 73 yrs.
Beth leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Billy Ramsay (Jenn Sharp) and his children, Morgan, Wyatt and Rylan Ramsay; their mother, Jody; one daughter, Nadine (Pat) McKnight and their children, Tatum and Krista McKnight; step son, Jeremy (Ali) Akins and family; and her two sisters, Bernice White and her daughter, Melissa White and Connie (Ed) Geiger.
Beth was predeceased by her husband William “Bill” Ramsay; her parents, Chuck and Marg (Donnelly) Lightfoot; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Alice (Beierbach) Faulkner; her nephew, Mitchell White; and brothers-in-law, David White and Gary Fox.
Beth was born August 17, 1945 in Eastend, SK and raised in Consul, SK. Upon high school graduation in 1963, Beth attended St. Michael’s School of Nursing in Lethbridge, AB where she trained as a Laboratory Technician.
In May of 1965, Beth married Bill Ramsay and moved to the ranch in the Cypress Hills, SK. In 1973 Beth was widowed, she remained at the ranch with her children and was remarried in 1975 to Bill Akins. She continued to operate the ranch until 1993, at which time she semi-retired and moved to the Medicine Hat area.
Beth’s early years in Consul were full of action and adventure which served her well when she married a rancher and moved to the Hills. Though she was raised in a small town, Beth adapted quickly to the ranching lifestyle. She embraced all aspects of ranch life, except for raising chickens! In addition to the commercial ranching operation, Beth enjoyed raising horses and longhorn cattle. She was involved in a number of activities and organizations including softball, curling, skiing, Irvine Ag Society, Texas Longhorn Association and Stockgrowers to name a few. Upon semi-retirement, Beth worked at several businesses in Medicine Hat, she particularly enjoyed the years she spent at the Beefeater. Beth had an enduring faith in God and attended the River Valley Community Church as long as she was able. She was also blessed with many wonderful friends and neighbours who supported her throughout her life.

FANDRICH
1945 – 2019
Bryan Edward Fandrich passed away at River Ridge Senior Center in Medicine Hat on March 7, 2019, at the age of 73 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Bonny in 2013, and by his parents Ed and Iris Fandrich. He is survived by three daughters: Leslie Fandrich (Chris Janata) of Warwick, New York, Jill (Mark) Braithwaite of Trail, British Columbia, Tracy (Allen) Woloshyniuk of Coalhurst, Alberta; and six grandchildren: Milo and Quinn Janata, Annaka and Bram Braithwaite, William and Nicole Woloshyniuk. Bryan is also survived by four siblings: Bruce Fandrich, Denyse (Bob) Yeast, Beverly (Christoph) Eversmann and Grant (Linda) Fandrich; and numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Bryan was born May 30, 1945 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He started working at his dad’s business, Fandrich Refrigeration, as a teenager and spent summers farming on his family’s farm at Hilda. He met Bonny Bouchard, the love of his life, in 1968 and they had a wonderful life together. At age 23, he bought a vacant lot on the Flats and designed and built his own house. He loved to travel with his family in the van, camping all over western Canada and the US. He dreamt about flying fighter jets but had to settle for watching the movie Top Gun at least fifty times.
When his dad slowed down, focusing on the domestic calls, Bryan started his own successful refrigeration and air conditioning business, Commercial Refrigeration. He was an active member of the Optimist Club in the 80s and 90s, working on their newsletter and special events. Bryan loved to tinker, could fix anything and always had a project on the go, including a number of DIY home renos. He owned an abundance of tools and flashlights – his packed garage was a sight to behold. His avid interest in computers came alive when he retired in 2000 – he even built his own computer. For many years he sent out weekly “webbies” to everyone he knew, links to interesting things he found on the internet, and he created and shared PowerPoint slide shows on his favourite subjects, which were many and varied! His creativity also took the form of looking for good deals at second-hand stores for project materials. He made beautiful knives by hand, sewed his own moccasins and patched together many decorative lamps into what could, loosely, be described as art. Bryan laughed easily, loved a good joke, was a great storyteller and was always the life of the party. He was a hard worker and a good husband, son, father, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed. Bryan’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at The Good Samaritan Society South Ridge Village and River Ridge Seniors Village and give special heartfelt thanks to Kreste Sadler for the support and devoted care she provided during the last few years.
