1926 ~ Laurence Waldbauer ~2019

Laurence Harold Waldbauer of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, February 24th, 2019 at the age of 93 years. Laurence was born on the farm southeast of Walsh on the Saskatchewan side on January 20th, 1926. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 71 and a half years, Joyce “Vivian”; one daughter, Alice Hamilton; one son, Gordon (Janet); two daughters-in-law, Linnette Waldbauer and Karen Waldbauer; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Laurence was predeceased by two sons, Leslie Waldbauer and Brian Waldbauer; son-in-law, Lloyd Hamilton; grandson, Jay Hamilton; his parents Ferdinand and Christina (Flemmer) Waldbauer, his two sisters, Louise Schacher and Allie Meier.
Laurence was one of the founding members of the Southeastern Beef Breeders Association until it was dissolved and proudly raised pure breed Hereford cattle until 1970. Being a farmer, he was a jack of all trades – built the family home, corrals, sheds and even a boat! Dad could work on any engine and get it running. When the family got a chance to leave the yard, they headed for Elkwater to waterski and to fish. Mum & Dad left the farm and moved to Walsh in 1980. In 1994 they moved to Medicine Hat. There, Dad spent a lot of time at auction sales and cattle sales. Mum & Dad enjoyed going to the musical jamborees in Kimberley, BC and Craven, SK. You could always find Mum & Dad at the Dairy Queen having coffee with their friends.
