ELIZABETH (BETTY ZACHER) KRASSMAN

November 13, 1929 – January 26, 2019
It is with great sorrow and sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Betty, at St. Joseph’s Home, on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the age of 89 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Beverley Ann Crawford and Loretta (Norman) Glass; her son Brian (Cynthia) Krassman. Mother was blessed with seven grandchildren, Scott (Corinna) Crawford, Shawn (Caroline) Glass, Troy (Renee) Glass, Tyson-Lee (Danielle) Glass, Damon (Jenna) Krassman, Kyla (Seth) Buehler and Dean Crawford who predeceased her in 2017. She was also blessed with eleven great grandchildren, Haley and Alicia Crawford, Gabrielle Elizabeth Glass, Hunter, Hudson and Harrison Glass, Tyce Glass, Kaiden and Jase Buehler, Aubrie and Carter Krassman. She is survived by her sisters, Catherine Bernhart and Rosie Fettig; sisters-in-law, Helen Zacher, Kay Zacher and Mary Krassman; as well as her friend and companion Pat O’Donnell. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Elizabeth Zacher; her husband Joseph Krassman on February 28, 1989; and her son-in-law, Roy Crawford in 2013. Betty was born in the Winnifred area, to John and Elizabeth Zacher, the youngest of her siblings. She later moved to Medicine Hat, where she lived until her passing. In her younger years she loved to dance, go shopping, plant gorgeous flowers, read and bake. Betty worked as a supervisor in the kitchen of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for over twenty years. When mom retired (or you may assume retired) her love of baking followed her to her passing. Her family enjoyed her German dishes but kuchen, cinnamon rolls, jam jam cookies and perogies were most admired and desired. Mother never left a stone unturned. She enjoyed her life spent with family and friends. She was a quiet, caring, giving, loving, wonderful person who enjoyed making others happy and was a strong person in her faith til the very end. Never did she forget a birthday, anniversary or special occasion, there was always a gift and card. As we now bid farewell, you will be forever loved and never forgotten. All our love to you mom, til we meet again, farewell and rest in peace. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Vijaya Bathineni celebrant. A private interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Carmel Hospice (St. Joseph’s Home) c/o 156 – 3 St. NE, Medicine Hat, T1A 5M1. JIM DIMITRIOS ROUSSOS

Family gathered privately as Fr. Peter recited prayers from the Greek tradition in honour of Jim Dimitrios Roussos. A couple days hence, many friends joined the family in Cook’s Chapel to celebrate his life with tributes and special music favoured by Jim. He will be truly missed!

One gift above all others
A song, a word, a smile
Our world’s a better place – because
We had them for awhile.

His Life Lived…
His Life Cherished…
His Life Honoured.
