1958 ~ NANCY GIESINGER ~ 2018

Nancy Christine Giesinger of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at the age of 60 years. Nancy leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jason Giesinger. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE on Monday, July 23rd, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. BARDSTON

Robert Bardston of Medicine Hat , Alberta died on June 12, 2018 at the age of 68. Raised in the projects of Louisville, Kentucky he went on to be the first black member of a major orchestra in the Southern U.S. A cellist with a masters degree – with highest distinction – in cello performance. A vocalist, musician par excellence and humanitarian. A brilliant teacher who's many students went on to positions in major orchestras in Canada and elsewhere, several winning first prizes in national competitions. His remarkable life was documented in a National Film Board of Canada movie: "Robert Bardston, the Bard's Son", and in "the Posi+ve Side", "PositiveLite.com" and other publications. In his later life, he became an activist in AIDS advocacy and awareness and was co-chair of CHABAC. He had a heart for the homeless, often allowing them to stay at his place. He was a generous , kind and compassionate man. He left a deep impression on all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A memorial service will be held at the River Valley Community Church in Medicine Hat, on Friday July 20, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, those who wish to remember Robert with a donation may direct it to the Canadian Association for HIV Research (www.cahr-acrv.ca) or to the Medicine Hat Symphonic Society where a scholarship endowment fund has been set up in honour of Robert Bardston, donations to the fund can be made at Symphonicsociety.com. The appreciation of a life might be succinctly consummated at its conclusion. That conclusion occurred for Catherine Lannan at St. Joseph’s Home in Medicine Hat, on Sunday, July 15, 2018; the origin of that life at the Leader Hospital, July 20, 1927. Catherine is survived by her son, Brian (Marion Bryant), family Jennifer (Ian Jackson, daughter Greta), Megan, Sean; son Shawn; son Neil; daughter Maureen (Gary Gray), family Brooklyn (Connor DeFanti), Alexis (Patrick Moore), Griffin; daughter Kathleen (Christian Aichner); sister Dolores (Allen Fitzsimmons); brother Milton (Anita); nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Hugh, daughter Mary, son Brent, parents Joseph an Katherine (Neigel) Deck, brother George (Glenna). Our lives defer to mortality, but our hope endures eternally. Despite Catherine’s love and admiration for flora, and fauna, flowers are gratefully declined. Donations to a favorite charity are encouraged for those who choose a memorial contribution. RANDY LEE CHRISTMAN

Randy Lee Christman, passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat on Friday, July 13, 2018, at the age of 61 years. He is survived by his mother, Viola Christman; children, Cody (Chelsea) Christman, Justin Christman, Chantal Christman (Craig Ryckman), Lucus Christman (Tegan Deschner) and their mother, Donna Christman; grandchildren, Rachel, Rylee, Deegan, Cooper, and Coen; siblings, Betty Robson, Gerald (Cheryl) Christman, Larry (Gerri) Christman, Doug (Kelly) Christman as well as many nieces and nephews. Randy was predeceased by his father, Albert Christman; brother, Brian Christman and brother-in-law, Rick Robson. Randy was born and raised in Bassano into a ranching family. Throughout his life, Randy held careers in farming and ranching, lastly owning and operating his own oilfield company. Randy will be remembered for doing things his own way and for his love of family and friends.
