NDP to hold online town hall on CPP

By Lethbridge Herald on October 11, 2023.

The Alberta NDP will be hosting an online town hall meeting in Lethbridge on Oct. 19 to hear residents’ concerns about plans to leave the Canada Pension Plan.
The meeting will be staged at 6:30 p.m. by Lethbridge West MLA and NDP critic for Finance, Pensions and Insurance Shannon Phillips and Samir Kayanda, who is the party’s critic for fiscal responsibility.
People wanting to attend are being encouraged to register in advance at AlbertasFuture.ca
“We will be hosting an online town hall with Albertans who don’t support Danielle Smith gambling with their retirement security,” Phillips said in a press release. “The UCP may be too afraid to hear directly from people about this critical issue, but we’re not.”
The NDP says 23,000 Albertans have taken the NDP’s survey on CPP.
