Composting facility gets major funding injection

By Lethbridge Herald on January 22, 2022.

The Alberta government in partnership with the federal government is investing over $5.8 million to support municipal infrastructure improvements in Lethbridge.
This money will go towards completing various municipal projects through the Canada Community Building Fund. This is a federal funding stream administered by the Alberta government that provides capital funding for municipalities to help build and revitalize local public infrastructure.
The City of Lethbridge is getting $5,879,000 for the construction of an organic waste compost facility here.
“Each year our government seeks to provide key infrastructure investment dollars in partnership with the federal government to our local municipalities. The City of Lethbridge has identified the need for a composting facility, and we have allocated these funds to meet that need. I look forward to this project being completed and benefitting the lives of those who live and work in Lethbridge,” said Nathan Neudorf, MLA for Lethbridge-East, in a news release.
