Professional wrestling action returns to Lethbridge this Saturday with Pure Power Wrestling Summer Sizzler.
The matinee card features six matches, and local wrestling heroes are ready to return to the ring for the first time since last October.
“We’ve all been eager to get back in front of fans,” said PPW star Dewey Robson, who faces Jumpin’ Josh Saturday afternoon in a grudge match. “We’ve been putting on streaming events through 2021 which have been great, but it’s just not the same as having the energy of a live crowd.”
PPW Heavyweight Champion Sydney Steele will also put his belt line as he faces International Wrestling Sensation Sweet Daddy Soul.
“I’d be lying if I said that this wasn’t a big match for me,” said Steele. “The pressure is on. Not only will this be the first time in almost a year that fans in Lethbridge have been there to see a wrestling event, so I know they’ll be electric, but thanks to the addition of Sweet Daddy Soul this match is now going to have a lot of international eyeballs on it.”
This year Pure Power Wrestling celebrates 10 years of bringing entertainment and excitement to Lethbridge, and PPW partner Jim Kristensen says it will feel good to be back in front of their fans again on Saturday.
“We’re ready to go out there Saturday and remind everyone that Pure Power Wrestling is the absolute best entertainment you can find in Southern Alberta,” said Kristensen.
The PPW Summer Sizzler is set to get cooking at the Pure Power Academy at 2920 9 Avenue North with doors open at 1:30 p.m. for a 2 p.m. start time. For more information on Saturday’s card and for ticket information visit
