Lethbridge College media grad and Herald intern taking next step toward career in journalism

By medicinehatnews on June 30, 2021.

Former Lethbridge Herald intern and Lethbridge College Digital Communications and Media program graduate Alejandra Pulido-Guzman has been awarded the Troy Reeb Internship.
Pulido-Guzman will begin a three month paid videographer internship with the local television broadcaster Global Lethbridge to continue her start on a new career path.
A 1988 Lethbridge College Broadcast Journalism alumni, Troy Reeb, who is currently the executive vice president for Broadcast Networks at Corus Entertainment, received an honorary degree from the college in 2019 and was named the college’s Distinguished Alumni recipient in 2003. This is the 16th time the award has been given to graduating students newly entering the broadcasting field from Lethbridge College.
Lethbridge Herald acting city editor Tim Kalinowski said he wasn’t surprised by Pulido-Guzman winning the scholarship award.
“Alejandra was a good colleague at The Herald, and did great work for us this summer,” said Kalinowski. “We wish her all the best as she moves forward in her journalism career.”
To apply for the competitive internship, Pulido-Guzman wrote a news story about how aquaponics operations may be a key to global food production sustainability and the ability for aquaponics producers to grow a variety of produce regardless of the climate where they live. The well-researched and reported story showed the potential Pulido-Guzman has for a career in journalism.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to learn through this opportunity,” says Pulido-Guzman. “There are things you learn in school, but other things can only be learned by being out in the world and actually doing it. I look forward to the pressure of being out there for three months, and I can’t wait for this experience.”

Recently, I have asked the experts from https://uk.edubirdie.com/literature-review-writing resource for help with my literature review, and now I am ready to deegree in Media program. I hope it will allow me to get the offer to internship.
