WETASKIWIN, ALBERTA, CANADA – Mounties say a five-year-old has drowned near a campsite in central Alberta.
Police say it happened Tuesday at the Lions Campground in Wetaskiwin, south of Edmonton.
They say the child had left the family camper while the parents were sleeping.
The child was later found in a pond beside the campsite.
Efforts were made to revive the child, who later died in hospital.
