VAUDREUIL-DORION, Que. – Quebec provincial police say the suspect in a stabbing attack west of Montreal that left two women dead and a third injured is scheduled to appear in court today.
Sgt. Valérie Beauchamp says the Crown will decide what charges the 44-year-old man will face.
He is expected at the courthouse in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que., about 50 kilometres west of Montreal.
Provincial police say the victims are the man’s 68-year-old mother and a 53-year-old neighbour, both of whom were stabbed Thursday in a condo tower in Montreal’s off-island suburb Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Beauchamp says a 70-year-old woman transported to hospital is now considered stable.
She says investigators remain at the scene today.
