Winter solstice story walk planned at Police Point Park

newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com@@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is getting ready to celebrate the longest night of the calendar year, the winter solstice. MHIP is hosting a free Solstice Night Story Walk at Police Point Park on Dec. 21. Participants will partake in a lantern-lit story walk through the park exploring a number of different winter festivals and traditions celebrated by people around the globe. Then participants can warm up with a cup of seasonal mulled cranberry that will be brewed over the fire and served for $2 per cup. The walk starts at 7 p.m. Dec.21 and is expected to take an hour to complete. The event is free, however registration is required. Call 403-529-6225 to register. 7-6
