Minimum wage in Saskatchewan is set to rise this weekend to $14 per hour, that province’s labour ministry has announced.

That is a $1 increase for the rate that is reset every October and which is scheduled to hit $15 per hour in the fall of 2024.

At that point the annual update will revert to an inflation indexation formula that was paused by the provincial government in order to reach $15 over two years.

Alberta’s minimum wage hit $15 per hour in 2018, where it has remained with no set plan to revisit it.

Changes take effect for Oct. 1, at which time Ontario’s minimum wage will also increase to $16.55, Manitoba’s to $15.30, and rates in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island will also reach $15.

British Columbia’s minimum wage was set at $16.75 last June.
