kking@medicinehatnews.com The Mustard Seed is connecting Hatters in need with tax experts from March 14-26, as part of its Returning Hope Program offered in partnership with H&R Block. Those eligible for the program can file their annual text return through H&R Block with no fee, by submitting the required documents in secure easy drop envelopes. Since its establishment in 2017, the program has helped more than 1,000 individuals experiencing poverty or homelessness in Alberta and B.C. “It’s a program we are incredibly passionate about that can make a true impact on people’s lives,” Debbie McLaren, area manager for H&R Block, said in a Tuesday press release. “We want to build awareness and understanding for what some Canadians are facing.” 6
