Ecole Connaught on alert after positive COVID-19 case detected

Ecole Connaught School has been put on alert after Alberta Health Services identified a positive case of COVID-19. The Medicine Hat Public School Division put a notice on its website Wednesday evening, which says all close contacts of the positive case have been put into quarantine. “We will support this individual and their family and wish them a safe and speedy recovery,” the division’s notice says. ” … it appears the exposure was limited to a small group of students and staff and we are confident, based on AHS guidance, that staff and students who have not been directed to quarantine can attend school safely.” The division believe there has been no transmission of the virus at any of its schools and the virus has been contracted off the premises. The division’s custodial team will begin enhanced cleaning protocols before students return to school after spring break. 6-5
