Westland Insurance continues its expansion all the way to East Coast

Expansion plans of an insurance agency that acquired a network in southwest Saskatchewan this fall have reached the Atlantic Ocean. Westland Insurance took over Innovation Credit Union’s insurance wing, including Dickson Agencies in Swift Current, in September as the B.C.-based firm began adding independent brokerages across the prairies. On Thursday it announced that it was adding Storm Insurance chain, based in Nova Scotia and Quebec. The firm, which was founded in the lower mainland of B.C. now has 19 locations in Alberta, including the Medicine Hat location on S. Railway Street, near Hill Road. It also operates in Manitoba and Ontario. 6-5
