The Kinsmen Home Lotto is underway and tickets are on sale.

This year’s home is located at 103 Sierra Road and is valued at $500,000 – the lotto is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Medicine Hat Kinsmen Club.

“This year’s house was made by Bravada Homes and it’s a really nice place,” said co-chair Steven Pudwell. “We’re hearing from a lot of people that they like how it’s finished and the overall layout.

“It’s got a modern country-style look to it – with the help of tradespeople Bravada has brought us another fantastic home.”

Pudwell says it is a “family-friendly” home with lots of storage options. The main floor and upstairs are around 1,900 square feet, while the basement is 700 square feet.

“There’s lots of house and a two-car garage,” he said. “The fridge, stove and microwave come with the place, too.”

The Kinsmen had to push back last year’s draw by a month to make sure enough tickets were sold. Pudwell says this year is looking better.

“We’re tracking well – better than last year for sure,” he said. “We want to keep that momentum going and February is looking like a good month.

“We’re on track and we’re still saying April 1 for the house draw and the 50-50 draw.”

The 50-50 draw is guaranteed to be at least $20,000, but Pudwell says the organization is ahead.

“If we did the draw today (Monday) we’d be looking at $26,000,” he said. “That pot keeps growing daily.”

The club is drawing for early-bird prizes leading up to the main draw, including one on Wednesday for a tool box and beer for a year. The next early-bird draws will be a $2,000 South Country Co-op gift card and then a draw for a Leon’s gift card for the same amount.

Tickets can be purchased at the home from 5-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on the weekend.

They can also be purchased online at http://www.mhkinsmen.ca or over the phone 403-528-6230.
