Influenza numbers drop for another year

Nearly 4,200 people have been laboratory-confirmed with influenza this season according to data released by Alberta Health Services on Thursday.

The numbers are slightly lower than a year ago and considerably lower than two years ago.

Since the last release of data on Jan. 16 the number of deaths has increased from 12 to 19. The increase was seen in Edmonton 2, North Zone 1, Central Zone 3, Calgary 1.
