Speed dating events being held in February

The Hearts on Fire Connections Co. Is hosting two February events with the goal of helping people connect.
The group is hosting Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 dating events for people looking to mingle.
“Valentine’s Day is on a Friday this year and we’re going to do the 50-plus group on that day,” said organizer Robin Davison. “On Saturday we’re going to do 30-49 years – both of the events are being held at the Mainliner.
“It’s going to be a really fun weekend.”
The pub will be decorated and it will have romantic lighting for the evening. Roses will be sold at the event.
Games will be played throughout the evening to help people break the ice and karaoke will be held after each dating session for anyone looking to continue their night.
“The dates may only last a few minutes each, but the fun will last into the night,” said Davison.
A ticket to either event costs $35 and that includes one drink. Limited tickets are available and attendees must RSVP before the event.
Tickets can be found online at eventbrite.com or at the Mainliner on North Railway street.
“We hold these because we know it can be tough for people to make connections,” said Davison. “Anyone is welcome to come and try this.”
The events are being sponsored by McBride’s, Hemp Town Rock and Guillotine Beard Oils.
