Richmound, Sask. has a new mayor, who wins election without contest

By Medicine Hat News on December 17, 2019.

Richmound, Sask. has a new mayor.

Brad Miller was the only nominated candidate in a byelection that was to be held in the village located east of Hilda, Alta., about 100 kilometres northeast of Medicine Hat on the Saskatchewan side of the provincial boundary.

That seat opened in late October with the resignation of former mayor Tom Tuchscherer. A nomination day was held on Dec. 4, with an election, which is no longer needed, to follow in January.

Miller, who was acclaimed, joins a three-person council in the village of 145 residents.
