Antique collectors and gun lovers flocked to the Cypress Centre this weekend for the annual Antique and Gun Show.

The event ran both Saturday and Sunday, showcasing antique and gun vendors from across the country.

“So far, so good,” said co-organizer Tim Hittel. “It’s packed in here and has been for a while now – the vendors we’ve been talking to are very happy so far.

“We’re seeing a lot of people through the doors and that’s always a good thing.”

Hittel had a booth set up at the show, selling decades worth of hockey memorabilia over the two days. He says it is great to speak face to face with so many potential customers.

“I’ve been doing this for 37 years and I love doing it,” he said. “Speaking with people, telling them facts about the old items, it’s fun.

“This weekend I’m co-running the show here and my booth so it’s a nice challenge.”

Hittel says a lot of people passing through over the weekend are looking to see what their items at home are worth.

“A lot of people come in to see if they can figure out what value they can put on their antiques,” he said. “A lot of the time people have these old items and have no clue what they’re worth.

“This place is full of experts who can help you find out what it’s all worth.”
