Mastermind Toys hopes to bring a classic toy-store experience to Medicine Hat

The official opening of Mastermind Toys in Medicine Hat will take place this weekend.

Mastermind Toys’ 13th store in Alberta opens this weekend at Strachan Corner in Medicine Hat.

It is a 4,000 square-foot specialty toy retailer.

“We are thrilled to expand our reach in southern Alberta, and are excited to introduce families in Medicine Hat and the surrounding communities to a fun new store bursting with the best hand-picked selection of specialty toys, games and books,” CEO Jon Levy said in a press release. “Customers looking for the perfect present for the kids on their list will now have the opportunity to enjoy the Mastermind Toys shopping experience in a colourful, energetic and friendly shopping environment.”

Mastermind Toys was founded by two brothers, Andy and Jon Levy, to provide shoppers with a classic toy-store experience. The organization travels the world to find a unique selection of more than 10,000 specialty toys, games and books.

There are: Hansa plush animals, fashion-forward Our Generation dolls, the Moonlite Storytime Projector, Bruder and Siku vehicles, Meccano, Quercetti marble runs, Magformers building toys, and Creativity for Kids craft kits and more.

Mastermind Toys offers a free customer loyalty program with benefits including free-gift wrapping. There are also members-only promotions.

Regular store hours: Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
