TSG Insurance sold to BrokerLink

By Medicine Hat News on May 31, 2019.

Local insurance agency TSG has been sold to a national operator BrokerLink, that company announced on Thursday.

The Medicine Hat office and staff will remain in place as BrokerLink, one of Canada’s largest property and casualty brokerages, takes over.

Thomson Schindle Green Insurance & Financial Services Ltd., was established in 1985 in Medicine Hat and now includes branches in Calgary, Brooks, Bassano and Edmonton.

“TSG’s success was built on an unwavering dedication to outstanding customer service,” said Ken Shindle, the firm’s president said in a release. “We know that our customers will continue to enjoy an exceptional customer experience and our employees will benefit from all that BrokerLink has to offer.”

Both Shindle, vice-president Stuart Green and other TSG employees will remain as part of transition, which could include an expansion of the company’s unique program covering collector cars to the national BrokerLink list of services.

“Welcoming Ken, Stuart and their experienced team allows us to grow our presence in southern Alberta,” stated BrokerLink President, Joe D’Annunzio. “Not only will we be increasing our service in Medicine Hat, Calgary and Edmonton, but we will now be able to serve customers in Brooks and Bassano, where we plan to build meaningful, long-lasting relationships.”

The transaction was closed on May 1. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition is the third by BrokerLink of an independent Alberta regional brokerage in the past six months.
