Walk on May 11 will raise money in hopes of curing Type 1 diabetes

A walk to raise funds for research to cure diabetes takes place May 11.

You’re invited to participate in the Sun Life and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk to raise funds for Type 1 diabetes research.

There will be a collective rally bringing together thousands of people whose lives are impacted by Type 1 diabetes. When you have Type 1 diabetes it affects you every day.

People with Type 1 diabetes are tired of the hardship of the disease, want to be heard, raise money and change the face of Type 1 diabetes forever, said Melanie Bayer, spokesperson.

The walk will take place at Echo Dale Regional Park from 10 a.m. with registration starting at 9 a.m.
