Connaught Golf Club member Jean Nitchke works on her short game Thursday, April 25, 2019 on the putting green at the course. Despite the recent uptick in temperatures, Hatters can expect a cool weekend with a chance of snow on Sunday.

Don’t put away the toques, gloves and winter jackets just yet, Hatters. Winter weather is expected to return to the region this weekend.

Environment Canada forecasts the temperature to drop to 0 C on Friday night with a 30% chance of rain showers or flurries. The same conditions are forecast for Saturday, with a possible thunderstorm added for good measure. But the temperature could reach as high as 14 C before dropping back to 0 C overnight.

Expect snow on Sunday, when the forecast high is -1 C and the low is -13 C. Cool daytime temperatures are expected for the early part of next week and into May, but overnight temperatures are expected to dip below freezing.

Similar conditions are expected across much of Alberta next week.
