Road closure for sewer work

Work to lay new sewer lines beneath Saamis Drive will see the road that connects Riverside to Box Springs Road closed starting Monday. Local access to businesses and a condominium complex on the stretch will be available from the west until the project is complete this fall. Replacement and upgrading of the storm sewer lines in the area began in the spring on 2018 and resulting in the closure of the western portions of Saamis Drive for most of last summer. This year, work by contractor BYZ Industries will complete the final phase with extends from the entrance of Sun City Ford car dealership to Third Street NW. The projects total budget is $15.7 million with work to replace sanitary sewer bypass bundled into the project to accommodate potential development in the city’s northwest. 6-5
