Cocaine, cash seized in Medicine Hat

Three people face charges after a cocaine and cash seizure totalling nearly $85,000 in Medicine Hat.

The seizure was made on Oct. 12 by ALERT’s Medicine Hat organized crime team.

Medicine Hat Police Service aided in the seizure executing warrants at two local residences. One residence allegedly being used to sell drugs is next to an elementary school.

Police seized nearly 650 grams of cocaine, more than 520 grams of buffing agent, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine and 28 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. In addition, various weapons and nearly $20,000 in cash were seized.

Curtis Rodin, Lesley Lebel and Kris Simons are charged with numerous drug offenses.

Rodin, 32, is charged with two counts of drug trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, drug possession and resisting arrest

Lebel, 37, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and drug possession

Simons, 31, is charged with four counts of drug trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of proceeds of crime, possession of a prohibited weapon and two counts of breach of probation.
