The South East Alberta Regional Skills Competition and Trades Technology Expo is coming back to Medicine Hat College Tuesday.

It will be the 13th consecutive year of the competition, and it will run in conjunction with the college.

The show is aimed around showcasing student skills outside the classroom setting, and exposing them to real-life opportunities.

More than 100 senior high school students from the area will be participating in auto service, baking, cabinet making, carpentry, culinary arts, hair styling, video production and welding competitions.

The majority of the competitions will take place at the college, but baking will take place at Medicine Hat High School and culinary arts will be held at Crescent Heights High School.

The top two student competitors from each category will advance to the Provincial Skills Canada Alberta Competition in Edmonton on May 30 and 31.

The expo will also be held at the college and will showcase numerous interactive displays and information booths.
