Medicine Hat News Those interested in learning about the Canadian Armed Forces can stop by the Patterson Armoury in Medicine Hat Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. The Canadian Army Reserve Open House is occurring at armouries and reserve units across the county. The event, hosted by the South Alberta Light Horse in Medicine Hat, will have interactive exhibits and activities, as well as soldiers there to answer questions. “The open house is a great way of informing the public about what the army has to offer,” said Capt. Brad Young, public affairs officer for the 41 Canadian Brigade. “This is also part of the army’s overall effort to increase awareness about the army reserve and hopefully connect with those people who are interested in joining,” he said, adding that the federal government has committed to increasing the reserve force by 1,500 to 30,000. 7
