The mandatory evacuation order that was in place for residents due to a grass fire along Highway 555 near Bindloss Monday eveningĀ has been lifted. Special Areas Board posted the notice on its Facebook page just before 9 a.m. Tuesday
At that time more than a dozen fire crews from the area were on scene fighting the fire. At one point Monday night the blaze at the northern edge of Cypress County was estimated to be about 25 miles long.
The mandatory evacuation order stretched from the area east of Range Road 23 and south of Highway 555. The evacuation area extends east to Highway 41.
More than 40 residents are registered at the emergency reception centre at Bindloss School.
