Medicine Hat News

Police have arrested a former youth summer camp director on child pornography charges in Medicine Hat.

On Sept. 7, ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation, with the assistance of the Medicine Hat police, arrested 25-year-old Nolan Davidson and charged him with one count each of possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

Davidson identifies himself on social media as a former camp director at Eagles Nest Ranch, a youth summer camp located in Cypress Hills Provincial Park. Police investigators say they have no evidence to suggest any offences were committed against any children who attended the camp.

Police executed a search warrant on Davidson’s residence in the Crestwood neighbourhood and seized a number of electronic devices, which will be sent to ICE’s forensic examination team, who will conduct a thorough search.

The investigation began in Nov. 2016, when November 2016 when the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children passed on information about a social media user uploading child pornography to the National Child Exploitation Co-ordination Centre in Ottawa, who subsequently referred the case to ICE.

Anyone with information about this investigation or any child exploitation offence is encouraged to contact local police or http://www.cybertip.ca.
