The victim has been identified as Brenda Woloski, age 53, of Medicine Hat.

Noah Harrison Bentley, 26, also of Medicine Hat, is charged with second-degree murder. A bail hearing was conducted and Bentley remains in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 15.

The body of Woloski was found on Saturday night in a home in the 800 block of Third Street S.E. Police believe Woloski and Bentley were known to each other, but the extent of that relationship was unclear.

Police continue to investigate and gather information at the house on Third Street S.E.

This is the second homicide in Medicine Hat in just over a week. Police say the two are unrelated and are isolated incidents involving people known to each other.
