Santa Claus Fund marks halfway to Christmas

The Medicine Hat Santa Claus Fund held a Halfway to Christmas movie showing this weekend, inviting Hatters to the Monarch for a free viewing of “The Grinch.”

“This was a great event and it was a lot of fun,” said executive director Deanna Doerksen. “This was an event held for some of the families that the Santa Claus Fund supports around Christmas time – a lot of our families live paycheque to paycheque and don’t have the money to go out as a family to the movies.

“It was fun for people to enjoy that movie experience.”

The Santa Claus Fund provided drinks and snacks for all those who attended and Doerksen says the group will hold similar events in the future.
